My name is Gus Schweinfurth and I am currently a student at the University of Oregon.
I am now finishing up my last year of undergraduate schooling and plan to double concentrate in Finance and Entrepreneurship and minor in Media Studies within the Journalism school.
I come from right outside of Portland, Oregon in a small suburb. I lived in the same house my entire life, and so when college came around, I decided to move away. I initially became a Wildcat by going to the University of Arizona but instantly knew in my heart that I was a Duck so decided to transfer back to my home state.
I never regret my decision to come back to Oregon but I am also looking forward to see where the future will take me. I know that Oregon is home but is also somewhere that I can return to.
In Summer of 2015 I decided to embark on a journey out of the country. I decided early on in my college stages that if I was able to study abroad, I would do everything in my power to accomplish that goal.
At the Lundquist College of Business, I found many of the subjects to be extremely interesting. After taking my general business classes, I decided to heavily pursue two different fields, Finance and Entrepreneurship. I hope one day to combine these two passions of mine to do what I love everyday.
In the Summer of 2013, I worked at a Volkswagen Car Dealership. This experience was very insightful because I was able to do a variety of different work, from sales trades, advertising, product-website management and overall maintenance of the products and facility. By doing so many different tasks, I was able to appreciate all of the different jobs that the people did in the dealership and better understand each employee level that comprises a business.
